BioOliver Wood  Oliver is a character in the Harry Potter book series. He is Scottish, speaks with a broad accent, and is three years older than Harry and friends. We were introduced to him as Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team in the first book, Philosopher's Stone. He left Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at the end of Harry's third year and went on the Puddlemere United Quidditch team as a reserve. Background After his canon introduction above, Oliver went on to rapidly work his way up the Quidditch ladder from Puddlemere United reserves to part of the French Quidditch Premier League team. He spent two years in France until during one particularly lengthy nasty game in a storm, Oliver was knocked off his broom by an opponent and was unable to retain a grip on the slippery broom handle. He fell over 300 feet, tearing the ligaments in his knee. There was no potion to heal the amount of damage he did and the injury subsequently ended his Quidditch career. Because Oliver literally lived and breathed for Quidditch, it was a tragedy in his eyes. It took him some months to come to term with the news, but discovered a natural ability within him for Healing magic, which he used out of desperation to ease his pain. It helped him turn to a fresh career as a Healer, and he now works at St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries in London, specialising in magical sporting injuries. He lives in a modest apartment in London overlooking the Thames, and after his accident, crossed paths with Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley again with the four of them now close mates. |
Personality Oliver sees himself as a basic guy. He is passionate about sports and is inately competitive by nature. He HATES losing. Despite not being able to play any longer, he is still deeply involved in his love of sports, always up-to-date with the latest results and outcomes of the Quidditch League. He is friendly and kind, the sort of guy to give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. An ever-typical Gryffindor, he is a loyal and trustworthy friend and knows a lot of people. He feels the only downside of his life right down is an abysmal lack of a love life. He has had a few romantic relationships over the years, but none that really stuck or could put up with his competitive nature. He likes relationships to be exciting and playful. Currently mostly existing on casual flings, at 33, he is more than ready to find a girl to settle down with, or even just someone to challenge him. |
Etre Libre RPG CURRENTLY RETIRED VERSE Oliver will enter etrelibre_rpg and the island of Etre Libre at age 30, thirteen years after he graduated Hogwarts and twelve years after he began to play professional Quidditch for Puddlemere United. Although not a prominent Harry Potter character, his canon backgrouns will span all seven Harry Potter books minus the Epilogue in Books 7.
